Why are you campaigning for one season/part of the game instead of the full game?
The studio leads have debated on this for a long while, but it comes down to two reasons!
The first is what it takes to make the full game. In case some players aren’t aware, my plan for Keyframes involves 9 Seasons that take you all the way to your graduation. You’ve already experienced one of those— your First Spring— and I hope that by now you’ve seen all the variations and branches it takes to make one Season. Such as how differently the LIs can act based on how you perceive them, how they perceive you, what events you played, what options you picked, etc. etc. And so, the number of branching narratives and variations we have to account for to be able to make the game I’ve envisioned will only grow bigger as the game goes on— which can only mean it gets even more expensive.
Namely due to writing. Haha big dreams often come at big costs and after crunching the numbers it would take a fair bit of money (upwards and past 200k if we’re being honest) to pay writers to account for all the variations I possibly would want to include in the game—
And yikes! That’s a lot of money that we wouldn’t dream of asking you guys for, especially as a new studio.
Which brings me to the second reason: the fact that we’re a new studio.
Although we’re happy to have the attention and support that we have right now— as a new studio, we don’t have the credibility to back the project we’re undertaking.
I would never say I regretted making Keyframes, but with such a massively planned-out branching narrative as our debut title, it’s more important than ever for us to build a proper foundation with you guys. Meaning, it’s our priority to show you and anyone else who’s got an eye on us what we are capable of.
We can’t ask for 200k but we can ask for a fraction. And if this campaign succeeds, then we have something to direct new players and potential publishers toward to show that Keyframes IS feasible. It IS worth it.

Will merch/add-ons be available after the Kickstarter?
We’ve discussed opening a shop after the campaign for anyone interested in grabbing them. However, until that’s been finalized we won’t make any guarantee that these items will be available after!

What is the 'design a side event' reward?
In Keyframes, we’ve planned for future seasons to have small in-between events that take place after the invitational events (events that you participate in through chat and/or call) and before the intermission scenes (where the chat and/or phone call invites happen when you’re in your room). These events spotlight an interaction with max three cast members that allow you to gain additional stat and/or affection points before an invitational event.
By purchasing this reward, you would be able to workshop with the devs to create a random event of your desire that can then be inserted into the linear gameplay.
NOTE: Due to the narrative we’ve planned for the cast, some ideas might be rejected but we’ll meet with you to make sure the event you want works with the game’s current pacing. To those who backed this reward, please be patient for we’ll get into contact once we’re ready for your input.

Will the guidebook be only for the Summer Season?
Nope! As we make the rest of the game, we would send each backer who purchased this reward an update. So you can consider it a one-time purchase that remains valid until the game is finished.

How will the beta testing/access work?
Backers with this reward would be given an invite to a private discord server where they have the opportunity to participate in monthly beta test builds until the game is released.
If the campaign is successful, backers would be sent an invite once we’ve reached a point in production where there is sufficient content to test.

How does the 'design your room/living room' reward work?
Given that this is an apartment/dorm living that you as a player would occupy for the rest of the game, we wanted to give players an opportunity to design a personalized element that can be added to your living areas.
By purchasing this reward, you will work alongside the devs to design an element of your choice to either your room/living room that will then be added as customization for the future Seasons.
Specifically for the living room reward, your personal touch will be mentioned at least once in the narrative for the First Summer Season.
NOTE: To those who backed this reward, please be patient for we’ll get into contact once we’re ready for your input.

Does purchasing a game key mean you get a key for the Summer Season or for the Full Game?
If you back for a game key then you will have access to the entirety of Keyframes. You will receive game updates per season as we produce them.

When will we receive our rewards?
If you want an estimated date, then Summer 2026 at the latest! However, we expect to ship rewards as soon as we’re able to, with digital rewards expectedly being the earliest. We ask for your patience in this regard, and updates on our social media and Kickstarter page will be made as we near significant dates!

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
